Suzanne Boire
Ms. B is the director and owner of Boire Dance Academy. She has been a dance educator for 34 years. She teaches all levels of ballet and contemporary. Ms. Boire was trained in the Royal Academy of Ballet Syllabus as a student. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance from Jacksonville University with honors and her master’s in education from Grand Canyon University Summa Cum Laude. She danced professionally in Jacksonville, Houston, Los Angeles and Miami. At her last company she danced with,” Demetrius Kline Dance Company” she found her love for choreography. Her choreography has been adjudicated at the national level and have won all-around high scores. She has had works created and shown in Florida, Georgia, and Rhode Island. She has choreographed musicals, dance productions and independent ballet and modern works. Her pieces have won high scores and choreography awards at ADA, Headliners, Star Quest, Dance Ovations, Turn it up, Step it Up to Dance, EDC, Star Power, and KAR, at the regional and national level. She has been a guest teacher at several Summer Schools in Florida and throughout New England. She has been a director of dance for over twenty-five years. She has owned the school for 18 years.
Tina Cassidy
Miss Tina, a native of Erie, PA, trained under Arlene Ashton Hay of the Diana Byer’s Dance Ring and later Robert Steele and Jeff Satinoff of the Elliot Feld Ballet. Ms. Cassidy received her BA in Dance from Mercyhurst University and her MFA in Dance Performance from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Her professional affiliations include the Lake Erie Ballet, Indianapolis Ballet Theater, Indianapolis Dance Company, Boston Dance Company, Burklyn Ballet Theatre, Melrose Youth Ballet and the Northern Ballet Theatre of Nashua, NH for ten seasons. Ms. Cassidy is a former Adjunct Faculty member at Berwick Academy and Northern Essex Community College. For twenty seasons, Ms. Cassidy was a Faculty Member and later Director with Northern Ballet Theatre Dance Centre where she has taught ballet, pointe, and contemporary dance and choreographed original works including the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Favorite dance roles include Concerto Barocco, Walpurgisnaught, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella; Flower Festival at Genzano; Balanchine’s Tarantella, Blue Bird in Sleeping Beauty and Snow Queen, Sugarplum, and Dew Drop in The Nutcracker. Ms. Cassidy has previously danced in six operatic centerpieces with the Boston Early Music Festival including the Grammy nominated Ariadne. Ms. Cassidy has also choreographed extensively for musical theatre including the Actor singers, NH Theatre Factory, Nashua High School, Music and Drama Company, Stagecoach Productions, and Peacock Players of Nashua where she received an award for “The Best Choreographer of a Community Musical” at the NH Theatre Awards. Tina teaches the upper-level Ballet program. Tina teaches our upper-level Ballet program and coaches our YAGP participants.
Michaela Duffy
Michaela began her dance training at the age of 5 at Dance Etc in North
Billerica, MA. Under the instruction of Jen Brody and other talented teachers,
Michaela trained in multiple disciplines of dance including tap, jazz, hip hop,
ballet, and contemporary. She traveled across New England attending and
competing at multiple dance competitions and conventions for many years,
receiving various awards and scholarships. She also trained with the Expressive
Movement (under Jeff Jean-Phillipe); a high-intensity professional hip hop
company based in Boston. Following her time at Dance Etc, Michaela went on to
dance at Stonehill College as a member of the pre-professional Stonehill College
Dance Company, “Stoneworks”. There, she began developing her love for
choreography and teaching alike. She created many contemporary and tap
pieces which had the opportunity to perform at various art festivals and
showcases in both Boston and New York. She traveled to Ireland in 2018, where
she participated in an intensive at the Fragolini School of Dance in Cork studying
modern and contemporary improv concepts on a full scholarship. While still in
college, Michaela began adjudicating and teaching at various competitions
across New England. Towards her later years at Stonehill, Michaela returned to
her home studio in Billerica to teach and choreograph for students of all ages.
Her choreography has won multiple high-scoring awards and designations at
various prestigious competitions. Michaela is currently a company member of
BCDP Global, a Boston-based professional contemporary company directed by
Sarah Kay (Skooj). She also teaches dance classes weekly at Stonehill College.
When not performing, she spends her weekends adjudicating, teaching, and
assisting at competitions and conventions across the country. Outside of the
dance world, Michaela works full time as a biomedical engineer, developing novel
therapeutics for rare diseases.
Kiersten Oliver
Miss Kiersten danced for 16 years at Boire Dance Academy. She has won numerous Dance Titles including American Dance Awards. Her choreography won her senior year in High School. She has brought her choreography to the next generation of company members. She also teaches our young dancer program, puggle program and contemporary dance.
Sarah Efsthanthiou
Miss Sarah started dancing at four years old and continued dancing throughout high school with Boire Dance Academy. Sarah studied primarily classical ballet, as well as contemporary dance and jazz. She performed in various productions, competitions, and scored highly in competency and skill standards of “Performance Awards”. After fourteen years of dancing, Sarah continued her dance journey as a teacher where she is part of the Children’s Dance program. While Sarah has dedicated the better part of twenty years to ballet, she also has recently attained a master’s degree in forensic psychology with honors from Southern New Hampshire.
